Where we are

Context

Our projects mainly deal with Somalia and Puntland State particularly focusing on socio-sanitary field and education for development.

Population: 10,5 million people , 52,3% women and 47,7€ men.

Somalia was unable to get over the crisis following years of civil war. In 2006 war and  guerrilla devastated the country again; people migrated to those areas which were  less involved in the frequent conflicts looking for a safer place to stay.

Galkayo and Puntland State suffered an increase in migration due to refugees and evacuees.

Galkayo population nowadays is around 180.000 people as many refugee camps have been created by UNHCR and UNICEF support.
