About Us

COMSED is a non governative organization  founded in 1995 in Crotone (Italy). Independent since 2001 and legally recognized  following Law 26.02.1987 the organization has been carrying out its activities since its creation in order to promote social and cultural development in developing countries through scientific and sanitary facilities, professional education and social and economic growth.

The idea came from a Somali doctor Abdulcadir Mohamud Giama who has obtained  Italian citizenship after studying and specializing in  obstetrics and gynaecology in Italy.

His main objective is to help  people from Africa particularly focusing on his country, Somalia, whose problems keep afflicting mostly women and children.

Our mission is pregnant women’s health especially when complications accure considering infibulation rate of  98% among Somali women.

Our mission is newborn and child health.

Our mission is education.

Our mission is  to fight infibulation through information in order to solve all dangerous problems caused by fistula which too often brings both mothers and children to death.
